Other retailers like Amazon and Walmart were able to list their own stocks on the big day itself, and many did - they were just snapped up incredibly quickly. While some stores have returned pre-orders to the shelves since then, things are moving particularly quickly. I’d recommend keeping a close eye onWalmartandAmazonin the US. Both of these stores were quick off the mark last week, running their own 30th Anniversary controller pre-orders as soon as Sony opened its own doors.
